Being in a toxic friend group is an often-overlooked experience that many young people go through. In conversations with several students who were willing to go on record, the story delves into what it feels like to deal with toxic people and be excluded. My story references psychologists, a ‘friendship expert’ and one of the world’s leading researchers in ostracism.
